Aquino to name Navy captain as new PSG chief

MANILA, Philippines – President Benigno Aquino III will announce the appointment Friday of his senior military aide as the new chief of the Presidential Security Group (PSG).

The change of command ceremony will be held in Malacañang to formally assign Navy Captain Raul Ubando as the new PSG commander.

Ubando replaces Brigadier General Ramon Mateo Dizon, who was named PSG chief in 2010 when Aquino assumed the presidency.

FEATURED STORIES

Dizon, 56, is set to retire on August 31.He was promoted to Brigadier General in April 2012.

Ubando is a member of the Philippine Military Academy class of 1985.
