Citom warns vs overnight street parking

The Cebu Intergrated Traffic Operations Management (Citom) has intensified its campaign against overnight street parking in the city.

Illegal parking in narrow streets, especially in the interior of the city have been hindering firefighters from penetrating fire scenes.

“We have received complaints from firefighters of constricted roads in interior portions of fire sites because of illegally parked vehicles, that’s why they asked help from our office,” said Rafael Yap, Citom executive director.

From July 16 to August 16 this year, Citom has issued 984 Traffic Citation Tickets for illegal night parking.

Aside from motor vehicles, Citom has also warned eight tartanillas (horse-drawn carriages) from blocking streets.
