MANILA, Philippines – Interior Secretary Manuel Roxas II arrived Thursday evening at the Makati City Jail where Janet Lim-Napoles is set to be detained.
“Maraming nalalaman si Napoles. Hindi natin nais na may mangyari sa kanya (Napoles knew too much. We cannot let something to happen to her),” Roxas said in a brief press conference.
He added that the government wanted to ensure that Napoles would be able to attend all the hearings on the pork barrel racket.
He declined to say the time Napoles would be committed to the Makati jail.
As of posting time, Napoles is still in Camp Crame.
Earlier, Director General Alan Purisima, PNP Chief, arrived at the Makati City Jail following an inspection team from the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group which surveyed the cell for Napoles.
Napoles, the alleged mastermind of a billion-peso pork barrel scam, has been detained in the PNP National Headquarters in Camp Crame since Wednesday night after she surrendered to President Benigno Aquino III.
