PNP chief arrives at Makati jail for quick check of Napoles cell

MANILA, Philippines – Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Director General Alan Purisima arrived at the Makati City Jail Thursday around 7:10 p.m.

Reports said Purisima went to the jail facility to also conduct a quick check of Janet Lim-Napoles’ cell.

Napoles, alleged mastermind of the billion-peso pork barrel scam, is set to be transferred to the jail after an order from the Makati Regional Trial court.

She has been held at the PNP National Headquarters in Camp Crame since surrendering to President Benigno Aquino III Wednesday night.

The Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) earlier conducted an ocular inspection of the cell where Napoles will be locked up.
