A historical marker was installed in San Juan City by the then National Historical Commission (now the National Historical Commission of the Philippines) on Aug. 29, 1969, to mark what is now known as the Battle of Pinaglabanan, the first encounter between members of the secret society Katipunan and the Spanish guardia civil on Aug. 30, 1896.
