Rookie cop nabbed in drug buy-bust operation in Davao del Sur

BANSALAN, Davao del Sur—Law enforcers collared a rookie policeman during a drug buy-bust operation in Barangay (village) Poblacion I around 7 p.m. Tuesday.
The suspect, who yielded a still undetermined volume of suspected shabu was identified as P01 Ronald Banderas, a member of the Magsaysay, Davao del Sur, police office.
Senior Supt. Ronaldo Llanera said the suspect was being investigated and detained at the holding cell of the town police station.
Senior Supt. Michael John Dubria, intelligence chief of the Southern Mindanao police office, said the arrest of a man in uniform in connection with the anti-drugs campaign all over the region proved that there were no sacred cows.

“If you violate the law, you’re on our list of targets for arrest,” Dubria said.
