Truck containing computer printers reported stolen in Pasig

MANILA, Philippines—A ten-wheeler truck containing computer printers and cartridges was allegedly hijacked  by armed men in Pasig City early Thursday and the vehicle’s driver and his companion later abandoned in Manila.

A report made by the driver to the Manila Police District anti-carnapping and hijacking unit said three armed men blocked the path of their ten-wheeler truck (RKX-643) in front of the Integrated Computer System Inc. warehouse along Antonio St. in Ugong village.

Danilo Capelin, 36, driver of Line Haul Express Road Feeder Services Inc. and resident of Novaliches, Quezon City said he and his  helper Gerald Pollero, 31, of Parañaque City were, at gunpoint, ordered to move aside as one of the two men took over the wheel while the two others boarded the truck.

Capelin told police he and Pollero were left behind by the hijackers along San Nicolas St. in Binondo at around 4 a.m.

He said the truck contained at least five pallets of computer printers and printer cartridges but could not tell police the value of the cargo.

Operatives of the MPD-ANCARH are conducting follow-up operations for the identification and arrest of the hijackers, as well as the possible recovery of the stolen items.
