Man arrested for shooting drunken, noisy neighbor

A man was arrested Monday night in Caloocan City after he shot and wounded his neighbor for being too noisy. The police identified the shooter as Robert Aquino, 42, a resident of Libis Bukid in Barangay 160, and the victim as Ryan Teofisto, his 22-year-old neighbor.

The incident happened near Aquino’s house at 11 p.m. on Monday. Teofisto was drinking with an unnamed friend in the neighborhood when Aquino showed up, complained that he was awakened by the noise they were making and shot him in the chest with an improvised handgun.

The victim was rushed to Manila Central University Hospital while barangay watchmen immediately arrested Aquino.—Nathaniel R. Melican
