Man robbed, stabbed in Consolacion

A 41-year-old man was robbed and stabbed while inside a resto bar in barangay Poblacion Occidental, Consolacion town, northern Cebu.

Joseph Nacion was stabbed in the left arm after he resisted a robbery.

Police said two men approached Nacion, pointed knives at him and declared a hold-up at dawn yesterday.

One of the robbers grabbed the victim’s bag which contained a cellphone and other valuables.

The victim tried to get his bag back prompting one of the robbers to stab him.

The robbers fled while the victim was taken to a hospital in Mandaue City.

In Mandaue City, two women were robbed at gunpoint by two motorcycle-riding men Saturday night.

Mary Margaret Batubat, 19, and Yvette Montebon, 24, reported the robbery to the Centro Police Station.

Batubat said a cellphone worth P34,000 was taken from her. Montebon said she lost her cellphone worth P5,000.

The two said they were waiting for a ride home when the incident happened around 11 p.m.
