THE 1&1 Marauders arrested a five-game slide to keep their sagging campaign alive in the 2013 E-League for Basketball last Saturday at the City Sports Club-Cebu Gym.
The Marauders handily defeated the listless Executive Boutique Lycans, 66-50, to tally just their third win in eight games.
1&1 started the tournament on a high note, beating the Lycans in the opening day, 68-42, and followed it up with a 61-49 trashing of the Kyocera Frontiers.
But it was all struggle for the Marauders after those back-to-back victories.
Argiel Fernandez and Raymaond Basañez made sure that the skid would end, firing 11 and 10 markers, respectively, to lift 1&1.
The Lycans, who remained winless after eight games, were led by Gestoni Santos and Rex Barrientos with 15 and 12 points, respectively.
In the other game, the Eperformax Reds picked up their fifth win with a 90-66 dumping of the ASI Hardbacks. /EDITORIAL ASSISTANT CALVIN D. CORDOVA
