Archers face Tigers in crucial UAAP tiff today

Games Thursday (Araneta Coliseum)
2 p.m. – UE vs. Ateneo
4 p.m. – UST vs. La Salle

TWO teams who are on the bubble for the final slot in the Final Four get ready to slug it out as the La Salle Green Archers face off against the University of Sto. Tomas Growling Tigers today in the 74th UAAP basketball tournament at the Araneta Coliseum.

The two teams are currently tied in fourth place with identical 4-5 records. Making matters even more dire is the fact that the National University Bulldogs are still on contention with their record which stands a half-game behind at 4-6.

Both UST and La Salle are also raring to bounce back after suffering losses in their previous contests.

The Green Archers got upset by the bottom-dwelling University of the East Red Warriors, 69-74, while the Growling Tigers got blasted by the three-time defending champions Ateneo Blue Eagles, 57-82.

Meanwhile, those same Eagles and Red Warriors tangle in the first game with the former aiming for their 10th straight victory. /Correspondent Jonas Panerio
