MANILA, Philippines—The low pressure area (LPA) is monitored 340 km east of Dinagat Islands, the state-run weather bureau said Sunday.

Based on the 4 a.m. advisory of the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa), the LPA will affect Southern Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao.

“Eastern Visayas and Caraga will experience cloudy skies with moderate to occasionally heavy rainshowers and thunderstorms which may trigger flash floods and landslides,” Pagasa said.

“Metro Manila, the provinces of Laguna, Rizal and Quezon, Bicol Region, Mimaropa and the rest of Visayas and of Mindanao will have cloudy skies with light to moderate rainshowers and thunderstorms. The rest of Luzon will be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms,” it added.

“Moderate to strong winds blowing from the Southwest to South will prevail over Northern Luzon and its coastal waters will be moderate to rough. Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate coming from the Southwest to West with slight to moderate seas.”
