THE Philippine Red Cross-Eastern Visayas Regional Blood Center (PRC-EVRBC) concluded the celebration of Blood Donors’ Month with an annual recognition ceremony last July 31 at Maxwell Hotel in Cebu City.
The center expressed gratitude to blood donors and partners for supporting them in their quest to save lives.
A certificate of appreciation was given to each of the 31 Blood Galloners 2013 (voluntary blood donors who donated nine times or a total of 4,000cc of blood), who were inducted into the Blood Galloners Club of the Philippine Red Cross.
Four blood donors who have given blood 27-28 times or a total of 12,500 cc were also given certificates of appreciation and bronze medals. Those who donated blood 41-42 times or a total of 18,750 cc of blood received silver medals and certificates of appreciation.
The center also honored its partners for welcoming its Mobile Blood Donations in their companies, schools, institutions and organizations.
Eight companies were given certificates of appreciation for 100 blood bags collected, 18 received Diploma of Service for donating 150 units of blood in two years, nine received Scroll of Honor for donating 300 blood bags in four years, nine were awarded with Blood Services Platinum for donating 500 units of blood in five consecutive years and four received Testimonial Plaque for donating 1,000 blood bags in 10 years.
PRC-EVRBC is inviting the public to donate blood at its Blood Center in Osmeña Boulevard, beside Rizal Library.
It accepts walk-in donors from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. every Monday.
On Tuesdays to Fridays, donors may call the center at 2534611 for an appointment. Donors may bring a valid ID and a friend or relative who will be willing to donate too.
