Luzon bettor wins Grand Lotto jackpot of P142.8M

MANILA, Philippines—A bettor from Luzon won the jackpot prize of P142,859,048.40 in Wednesday night’s 6/55 Grand Lotto draw, hitting the winning combination of 09-01-06-40-16-35, the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office said.

There were 34 bettors who got the consolation prize of P150,000 each for hitting five of the six-digit combination. A total of 2,025 bets got four out of six numbers and won P2,000 each; while 40,107 others won P150 for picking three correct numbers.

The highest prize on record that reached P741 million was won on November 29, 2010, by a New York-based “balikbayan” (Filipino returnee) who bought the winning ticket while on vacation in Olongapo City.

Every bet has one chance out of 29 million possible combinations to win in the 6/55 Grand Lotto.

The next draw is set on Saturday with a minimum jackpot of P30 million.
