MANILA, Philippines—TigerAir on Thursday canceled eight flights coming from Manila and re-scheduled eight others, citing flooding at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport’s Terminal 4.

The budget airline announced that its flights to and from Bacolod, Iloilo, Puerto Princesa and Kalibo, have been canceled.

Meanwhile, another eight flights were re-scheduled.

“Due to continued flooding at NAIA Terminal Parking Ramp, TigerAir is encountering some delays in passenger embarkation and deplaning but rest assured we are doing our best to accommodate our passenger,” said vice president for operations Captain Bert Yap in a statement sent to INQUIRER.net.

He said TigerAir woul waive all rebooking charges.

One of the passengers of the re-scheduled flight to Cebu told INQUIRER.net that the airlines seemed to have a lot of backlog flights. They were merely told that there were “airplane problems.”

He said TigerAir crew, nevertheless, tended to the passengers, facilitating their refund and rebooking, as well as giving out meals.

A number of those who already received their refunds have booked with other airlines.
