Warehouse fire in Pasay out after 2 days

MANILA, Philippines—Firefighters put out the fire that hit a warehouse in Pasay City for almost two days, a city fire officer said Thursday.

Fire Officer 3 Luisito de Guzman said the fire at the four-story warehouse in Russel Street, Barangay (village) 76 was put out at around 7:15 a.m. roughly two days since it started around 3 p.m. last Tuesday.

The fire reached Task Force Bravo.

He said arson investigators have yet to determine the cause and origin of the fire, as well as the cost of damages it made.

“Arson investigators are still at the crime scene for post fire investigation,” de Guzman said.

Senior Police Officer 2 Bernardo Bermejo of Pasay Fire said they had a hard time putting out the fire as the stored goods were mostly rubber slippers and shoes.

Portions of the structure also collapsed, he said.

Fire trucks from nearby cities had also responded.

No one was reported hurt, De Guzman added.
