MANILA, Philippines – Fatalities from the floods caused by the storm-enhanced southwest monsoon is up to16, according to consolidated government reports.
Separate records from the Office of Central Luzon noted two new deaths: Roman Sanchez, 29, who was electrocuted in Pampanga and Lodigario Parado, 53, from Bulacan, who died from drowning.
Office of Civil Defense in Region IV-A or Calabarzon recorded five new fatalities: Rustom Despeda, 12, from Sariaya in Quezon; John Genesis, 23, from Noveleta, Cavite; two-year-old infants Roberto Capili and Constantine Modesto from Imus and Nelson Fausto, from Teresa, Rizal. All of which were swept by floods.
A woman also reportedly drowned in Paranaque, National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council spokesman Major Rey Balido said at a press briefing.
The NDRRMC previously reported 8 fatalities.
Four persons are still missing. One from the previous list of missing persons was later found dead, but a new one was added to the list – Rodrigo Telles, 69, who reportedly drowned in Carrangalan in Nueva Ecija.
The injured persons are still at 41.
Affected persons remained at about one million. The biggest bulk of affected persons were in Central Luzon, which were 670,186 persons.
