Flights to, from Manila canceled due to storm
AT least eight flights to and from Manila were canceled at the Mactan Cebu International Airport (MCIA) due to bad weather in Metro Manila yesterday.
MCIA public affairs manager Mary Ann Dimabayao said five flights bound for Manila and three flights from Manila were canceled after the Ninoy Aquino International Airport got flooded.
The cancelled flights include Cebu Pacific 5J 564 bound for Manila; Philippine Airlines PR 849 for Manila, PR850 from Manila, PR 853 for Manila, PR 854 from Manila, PR 855 for Manila, PR 856 from Manila and the Tiger Airways DG 7003 bound for Manila.
Another Cebu Pacific flight 5J 869 for Ozamis City was also delayed.
Dimabayao asked the public to first verify with the airline company if they have flights for Manila so they will no longer go to the airport.
So far, she said, she didn’t notice stranded passengers at the airport terminal.
