Rainfall advisory downgraded to yellow

MANILA, Philippines–Flood is still threatening low-lying areas even as rainfall alert was downgraded to yellow Tuesday night after the heavy to torrential rains earlier in the day.

“Moderate to heavy rains are expected over Metro Manila, Rizal, Cavite, Laguna, Bulacan, Zambales, Bataan and Occidental Mindoro for the next three hours,” the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration issued at 10:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Rains eased out a bit after heavy to torrential rains throughout the day. Red rainfall alert was raised twice in the morning before it was downgraded to orange and was extended twice.

The rains are triggered by the southwest monsoon enhanced by tropical storm Maring (international name Trami).
