MANILA, Philippines— Fire gutted two establishments in separate incidents in Pasay and Makati on Tuesday amid heavy rains brought by tropical storm “Maring.”

The fire that struck a clothing warehouse in Pasay City at around 6:41am was put out after more than  two hours while another blaze gutted the second and third floor of Ayala Builders, a hardware store along EDSA Magallanes in Makati City at 9a.m,  a radio report said.

The fire in Makati reached the third alarm and was put under control at 10:30 a.m. The establishment was said to have contained storage of paint that made it difficult for firefighters to contain the blaze.

The report said the fire might have been caused by faulty electrical wiring although the Makati Local Fire Bureau has yet to determine the cause.

No injuries were reported in both incidents. Authorities have also yet to determine the cost of damage.
