MANILA, Philippines – Floodwaters rose to more than five feet in parts of Quezon City as torrential rains spawned by tropical depression “Maring” continued Tuesday morning, the Quezon City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office said.
Juanito Casilao of QCDRRMO said the water level was high at Gumamela Street in Roxas District while it was waist-deep in Calamba, Don Pepe and Ma. Clara in Barangay (village) Sto. Domingo.
Boni Serrano-Santolan Road near Blue Ridge, are now impassable to light vehicles.
He said 50 Army reservists and rescue boats were deployed for rescue operations.
Meanwhile, 76 families from Area 5 in Barangay Bagong Silangan have been evacuated to covered courts as waters in San Mateo River overflowed.
