It’s back! Our story-in-chapters for Inquirer’s young readers and their teachers begins today.
The Bench-Inquirer in Education Serial Reading Program (SRP) is now on its seventh story.
As in the past years, Bench is donating Inquirer copies to the students of 41 teachers in 27 partner schools so the teachers may teach, and their students may better appreciate, the story.
“Letters from Crispin,” this year’s series, is written by Palanca award-winning writer Cyan Abad-Jugo, who has also authored two previous stories, “Yaya Maya and the White King” and “Earth Healers.”
The illustrations are by young artist Daniela B. Go, a senior visual communications student at the University of the Philippines.
The timing of this story is perfect. The nation observes Ninoy Aquino Day tomorrow and our story begins to unfold on Aug. 21, 1986.
In future chapters, our readers will find more historical links in the story.
We welcome to the SRP new partner teachers from schools in as far north as Ifugao province and as far south as Camarines Sur and Legazpi City. They are Reggie C. Baile, Ruby Marie T. Pardiñas, Marie Grace T. Pascua and Delia T. Santiago.
