10 dead, 12 injured in El Salvador truck crash
SAN SALVADOR— Ten people were killed and 12 injured in northeastern El Salvador on Sunday after the truck they were traveling in plunged into a ravine, police said.
A police spokesman in Cacaopera, approximately 178 kilometers northwest of San Salvador, said the crash occurred after the vehicle driver lost control and veered off the road down a 50-foot drop.
The truck had been transporting merchants back from a market near Cacaopera when the accident took place, police said.
