MANILA, Philippines – The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) reminded motorists that the number coding scheme was not lifted Monday despite heavy flooding in several areas of Metro Manila.
In a Twitter post, MMDA said the number coding was lifted only in Quezon City in observance of Quezon City Day.
Under the number coding scheme, motorists are barred from traveling along major thoroughfares of Metro Manila from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., depending on the last number of their license plates.
For Mondays, those covered by the coding scheme are motorists with plate numbers ending in 1 and 2.
Malacañang earlier ordered the suspension of work and classes in Metro Manila, except for offices involved in disaster preparedness and response.
