MANILA, Philippines—Flow of traffic remained normal in almost all parts of Metro Manila despite sudden rains early Sunday, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority said.

Emma Loristo of MMDA-Metrobase said that as of posting, only the northbound lane off Cubao service road was recorded with moderate traffic, while flow of traffic in all other parts of EDSA is fast-moving.

Same goes for both lanes along C5, Commonwealth, and Espana.

At around 11 a.m., MMDA’s mobile application cited that moderate traffic is being experienced at the northbound lne of Santolan, while light to moderate movement was recorded at the southbound lane of Club Filipino.

It cited that two lanes at the area are occupied by on-going drainage rehabilitation. Two lanes are passable.

It said there is also a slight build-up in both lanes of the Eliptical Road, as well as at Sgt. Esguerra. Moderate traffic, on the other hand, was recorded at the southbound lane of Mayon.

MMDA-Flood Control Unit, meanwhile, said no area was flooded when it rained around 9 a.m.

“There were moderate to heavy rains, but it lasted only for a while,” Bobot Balbaboco of Flood Control Unit said.
