Goldberry logs sixth straight victory in SHAABAA

THE GOLDBERRY Suites remained in a class all by itself as it walloped the Gaisano Capital, 59-43, for its sixth straight win in the Sacred Heart Ateneo Alumni Basketball Athletic Association earlier in the week at the Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu basketball courts along Mango Avenue.

Dave Lim, a many-time MVP of this tournament, finally got his groove back after starting slow this season, erupting with 14 points, 13 rebounds, four assists, four steals and two blocked shots.

Paulsen Uy had 11 points and five boards and four assists in what was yet another dominant performance by the league-leaders.

The loss dropped Gaisano to joint third place with Milco, which beat San Jose Bakeshop, 73-64.

FEATURED STORIES

Justin Osmeña, Theogene Lim and Roderick Mangubat proved to be a formidable trio as they scored 22, 19 and 18 points, respectively, to tow their team to the win.

Both Gaisano Capital and Milco share identical 4-2 (win-loss) records.

Meanwhile, there is also a logjam at second place as the RDAK Transporters and Insular Square remained tied after they beat their respective opponents in their previous outings. RDAK thrashed the A-Team, 60-49, while Insular Square routed the listless San Remegio Aguilas, 70-47.

The reigning champions Cebu Landmasters continued to stay afloat as they evened their record to 3-3 after beating Alberto’s Pizza, 71-54. Franco Te paced the squad with 15 points./Correspondent Jonas Panerio
