MAYOR QUESTIONS FUEL CONSUMPTION
TALISAY City Mayor Johnny delos Reyes threatened to take legal action against employees caught using City Hall’s fuel supply for personal use.
“Dili pud ko mutuo nga ingon ana lang kadali sa paghurot sa gasolina. Unsaun mana nila suyupon (I don’t think they could easily consume 100 liters of fuel worth P4,000 a day. What do they do, drink it?),” the mayor asked.
To allay suspicions of abuse, delos Reyes said fuel tanks should be sealed and authorized office personnel are required to be present along with the drivers when the seals are broken during refueling.
Edwin Nierves, chief of the Ecological Solid Waste Management Collection and Transport, however said that 100 liters of fuel may be too little for a 24-hour operation as garbage compactors consume more fuel than garbage trucks./ Correspondent Gabriel C. Bonjoc
REVAMP AT TALISAY CITY HALL SOON
A REVAMP of Talisay City Hall will take effect soon, with one department head already identified as the new human resource manager.
Talisay City administrator John Yre de los Reyes said current HR office chief Hazel Bathan will be replaced by Emily Cabrera, chief of the Local Civil Registrar (LCR) office.
Yre said Cabrera is not qualified for her current position and her appointment to the registrar’s office was not approved by the Civil Service Commission (CSC).
He said he will meet with the Personnel Selection Board (PSB) on Cabrera’s case.
Bathan was formerly assigned at the Commission on Elections (Comelec ) office before she assumed as HR chief.
For now, Bathan will be placed on floating status, Yre said.
