LIGHTNING STRIKES CHARCOAL-MAKER
A CHARCOAL-MAKER who was found dead in an open field may have been struck by lightning in barangay Sudlon Uno, Cebu City.
Roben Caballes Racaza, 49, was discovered Thursday night by his wife Concordia with burns all over the body.
SPO1 Victor Ruel Ayuman, homicide investigator of the Cebu City Police Office, said the man’s injuries ruled out foul play in his death.
There were no electrical wires in the area.
Concordia told police that her husband left home around 9 a.m.

MAN KILLED IN DUMANJUG
AN unidentified man was shot dead in barangay Masa, Dumanjug town, southern Cebu.
The man, who was believed to be in his 30s, succumbed to two gunshot wounds the head.
No one from the barangay came forward to claim the body or identify the victim.
The man, who wore a red T-shirt and white jersey shorts, was walking along a road when he was shot past 5 p.m. Thursday.
The man was earlier seen asking for food from residents.
Barangay tanod Rogelio Torquido said he heard two gunshots and later found the man slumped on the ground.
The man was brought to the hospital where he was declared dead.

TRUCK CATCHES FIRE
AN ELF truck caught fire while it was parked at the side of the road in barangay Casuntingan, Mandaue City yesterday dawn.
The truck driver had left the truck with its engine running.
SFO1 Cipriano Codilla of the Mandaue Fire Station said the truck’s engine may have overheated causing it to catch fire.
