Educators to share dynamic learning

/ 06:21 AM August 17, 2013

A DYNAMIC learning program (DLP) teaching method that was first implemented by the Bernido couple in their school, Central Visayan Institute Foundation Inc. (CVIF), in Jagna, Bohol will be discussed today.

The CVIF-DLP is a framework of teaching developed by Ramon Magsaysay awardees Dr. Christopher Bernido and Dr. Ma. Victoria Carpio-Bernido that aims to develop learning independence to significantly improve a student’s academic performance.

The Bernidos have proven via scientific studies and through actual implementation that 80 percent student activity plus four academic days and zero homework will lead to better student performance.

This teaching framework aims to help improve the quality of Philippine education in the country despite the shortage of qualified teachers and lack of facilities in many schools.

Jointly organized by the PLDT-Smart Foundation, Inc., Smart Communications Inc. and the CVIF, which is owned by Dr. Chris Bernido’s parents, the “CVIF-DLP Convention: Sharing of Best Practices” is a whole-day activity that will be hosted by the University of the East Manila.
