MANILA, Philippines — A low pressure area was spotted east of Northern Luzon Thursday, the state weather bureau said.
The LPA was last observed 1,200 kilometers east of Northern Luzon, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said.
Meanwhile, the southwest monsoon is affecting the western sections of Northern and Central Luzon.
Cagayan Valley and the regions of Ilocos and Cordillera will experience cloudy skies with light to moderate rainshowers and thunderstorms, Pagasa said.
Metro Manila and the rest of the country will experience partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms, it added.
Moderate to strong winds blowing from the southwest will prevail over Luzon and its coastal waters will be moderate to rough. Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate coming from the southeast to southwest with slight to moderate seas.
