Archers, Bulldogs notch close victories in UAAP caging

/ 08:42 AM August 15, 2013

THE La Salle Green Archers yesterday nipped the Adamson Soaring Falcons, 70-69 in overtime at the start of the second round of eliminations in the 76th UAAP men’s basketball tournament at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum.

Veteran guard Almond Vosotros canned the game-winning jumper with 1.8 seconds remaining that lifted the Archers to their fourth win in eight games while sending the Falcons to their second straight loss and their fifth in eight outings.

The savvy-laden Vosotros picked up a miss by LA Revilla and put a shot up that bounced on the rim four times before eventually trickling in. Adamson had a chance to win the game but a bad inbound pass botched the play that resulted in Jericho Cruz missing wildly on his desperation attempt.

Vosotros also added nine rebounds while Arnold Van Opstal chipped in 13 markers.
