IN HIS BID to become a top-caliber boxer and a future champion, Cebuano Mark Vincent Bernaldez signed a promotional contract with ALA Boxing Promotions.
Bernaldez sealed the deal with ALA in the presence of vice president Dennis Cañete last Aug. 12 to become the newest addition to the growing number of world class boxers under ALA Promotions.
Bernaldez holds an undefeated record of 10-0 (win-loss). He is preparing for his biggest fight to date as he spearheads ALA Promotions’ newest boxing event dubbed “Idol” on Aug. 24 in Escalante, Negros Occidental. The show’s pilot episode will be aired live over Studio 23 at 12 noon.
Bernaldez will face Indonesian Marangin Marbun (21-10-1, 9KOs), who has fought noted boxers like Rey “Boom-Boom” Bautista, Duangpetch Kokietgym, Glenn Poras and the undefeated Joel Brunker.
“I want to knock him out like the last Indonesian boxer I fought,” Bernaldez said. “I want to put up a good fight and I am very thrilled to fight against such an experienced boxer.” /CORRESPONDENT DALE G. ROSAL
