MANILA, Philippines – The National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) assured the public Tuesday that transmission facilities damaged by Typhoon “Labuyo” (international name: Utor) in Luzon over the weekend were now operational.
In an interview with Radyo Inquirer 990AM, NGCP spokesperson Cynthia Abalanza that the NGCP power distributors were fully operational as of 2:15 p.m. Monday.
Abalanza said, however, that repairs by the NGCP in other provinces continued, as well as the implementation of safety measures like shutting down toppled power lines and providing insulators.
She also pointed out that most lines have back-up power supply.
Meanwhile, communication and cell sites are still down in Aurora, including the towns of Casiguran, Dinalungan, Dipaculao, and Dilasag, said the Office of Civil Defense (OCD). Julliane de Jesus
