FEATURED STORIES

THE UNIVERSITY of San Jose-Recoletos (USJ-R) Jaguars and the University of Cebu (UC) Webmasters try to bounce back from losses in their previous games when they tangle in the Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation Inc. men’s basketball tournament today at the Cebu Coliseum.

The Jaguars fell to the University of the Visayas (UV) Green Lancers last Saturday night, 80-91, to even their record at 1-1 (win-loss). The Webmasters also fell to the very same Lancers in their opening assignment, 62-81.

But with both squads parading nearly new lineups, the action is expected to be fierce as they try to establish their place in the league’s pecking order this season behind the league powerhouses, UV and the reigning champions Southwestern University.

With the exit of star guard Brian Heruela, the Webmasters are still looking for their identity as they look for contributions from all corners.

The Jaguars, on the other hand, have seemingly found theirs in prized rookie finds Rendell Senining and Fletcher Galvez, both coming from the juniors titlists, Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu Magis Eagles.  /Correspondent Jonas Panerio
