MANILA, Philippines—It seems that Philippine National Police chief, Director General Alan Purisima, is planning to take another action if the PNP’s Internal Affairs Service (IAS) fails to deliver the full result of its investigation on the Atimonan, Quezon case on time.
Purisima said Police Director Alexander Roldan, IAS chief, has promised him to fast track the investigation on the January 6 incident that killed 13 people in Atimonan, Quezon.
“I have already raised my point when I asked for a speedy resolution of this case…in return Police Director Roldan has already assured me that he will [speed-up] the process,” Purisima.
“Otherwise we will be making another announcement,” Purisima added without elaborating.
Purisima earlier expressed dismay over the seemingly slow progress of the IAS in the conduct of its investigation on the possible administrative liabilities of the 22 officers involved in the infamous Atimonan, Quezon case.
Based on PNP regulations, all administrative cases must be resolved within 90 days since the start of the investigation.
Roldan earlier said the Summary Hearing Board on the case could probably be concluded within the month.
