At 2:20 am, Aurora experienced a province-wide blackout after strong rains pummeled the province and toppled power lines.
The report said the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) has been working to resolve the problem.
Meanwhile, Baguio City Mayor Mauricio Domogan told Radyo Inquirer that steady and heavy rains resulted in power outage in the city at 8:22 am that prompted the suspension of classes in all levels.
The NGCP, in a statement Sunday, said they had implemented necessary precautions to minimize the impact of typhoon “Labuyo” on their operations and to ensure immediate restoration work.
“The eye of typhoon ‘Labuyo’ was located based on all available data in the vicinity of Baguio City (16.6°N, 120.8°E) with maximum sustained winds of 140 kph and Gustiness of 170 kph,” according to a 9am weather update of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration.
