More cops for Metro Manila

The drive against street crimes in Metro Manila has received a much-need boost with the deployment by the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) of 500 lawmen from the Regional Public Safety Battalion (RPSB) to augment the ranks of its five police districts.

Of the 500-strong augmentation force from the RPSB, 150 were assigned to the Quezon City Police District; 150 to the Southern Police District; 75 to the Northern Police District; 75 to the Eastern Police District; and 50 to the Manila Police District.


NCRPO director Chief Supt. Marcelo Garbo Jr. earlier ordered his men to reduce street crimes by at least 50 percent.—Jaymee T. Gamil
