A SECURITY guard allegedly tried to commit suicide by shooting himself in the head inside the toilet of a pawnshop he was guarding in barangay Tabok, Mandaue City.
The guard remained in a critical condition in a Cebu City hospital.
Rowena Demoral, branch manager of RD Pawnshop, said they noticed that the security guard was distraught and went frequently to the toilet Friday night.
Around 6 p.m., the guard went to the toilet again.
Gunfire sent the pawnshop workers rushing to the toilet where they found the bloodied guard slumped on the floor.
Police found a .38 caliber revolver with five bullets in its cylinder in the guard’s right hand.
SPO1 Dionisio Dela Peña of the homicide section of the Mandaue City Police Office (MCPO) said that according to the guard’s sister, the man has been suffering from a nervous breakdown.
