CEBU may have more C-licensed football coaches should the 22 coaches who attended the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) C-Licensed Coaching Course pass their written and practical exams.
The course, which started July 29 and ended yesterday, was offered by the Cebu Football Association (CFA) and handled by the Philippine Football Federation (PFF) technical director Aris Caslib and AFC-appointed instructor Marlon Maro, both A-licensed coaches.
If the 22 pass, they will get their licenses after two months.
The hopefuls are Ronald Bitor, Ariel Cahilig, Edwin Arganza, Edwin Tumampo, Tirso Ramon Roa, Orlando Salera, Marion Rey Cubelo, Hanzel John Go, Epifanio C. Ynot, Jose Siegfred Apurado, Rommel Cuizon, Nolie Entero, John Phil Opigal, Joseph Rodriguez, Josaphat Sacil Jr., Lyle Norberto Vismanos, Rolando Rafol, Jonel Palang, Julius Tapia, Warlloo Sabella, Jon Aaron Carlos and Christopher Pedimonte.
Maro stressed the need for coaches to get their license as PFF will be strictly implementing a rule next year that bars coaches from handling a team if they have no license.
Even the Younghusbands—Phil and James—who run a football academy, are urged to get their coaching licenses.
At present, Cebu has 17 C-licensed coaches, four B-licensed coaches and one A-licensed coach in Bro. Mari Aberasturi. /Correspondent Mars G. Alison
