ANNABELLE Rama, the feisty celebrity talent manager, who is facing a P1.5 million estafa case, yesterday unleashed a barrage of tweets, berating her cousin who sued her before the Cebu City Prosecutor’s Office.

Rama, who lost her bid for a Cebu City congressional seat in May, said she was ready to face off with her cousin, whom she accused of fabricating lies against her.

Rama fired off nearly 40 angry tweets using her Twitter handle @annabellerama.

Most of it were personal attacks against her cousin Jose Vicente Rama del Prado, a businessman who said he’s been trying to get Rama to pay back P1.5 million in cash that she received from him before the election because her check for that amount bounced.

Rama said she was shocked upon arriving from the United States to learn that del Prado had filed charges of estafa and a violation of Batas Pambansa Bilang 22 or the Anti-Bouncing Check Law against her.

“Sige magdemanda ka. At least may libangan ako ngayon. Gusto-gusto kong pumunta sa hearing. Gusto kong makita pagmumukha mo. Gusto mong maglabasan tayo ng baho? Sige sasabihin ko lahat. Di kana nahiya sa pamilya ko. See you in Cebu, sumipot ka sa hearing ha? (Go ahead and sue me. At least, I now have some sort of entertainment. I really want to attend the hearing. I want to see you in court. Do you want me to reveal our secrets? I’ll say everything. You didn’t have shame towards my family. See you in Cebu. You should attend the hearing),” she said.

She said del Prado should “tell the truth why my checks are with you” and why the bank account was closed.

“Who forced me to close the account, wasn’t it you?” she said in Tagalog.

“Ang kapal ng mukha mo. Nagmamalinis ka pa. Ginawa mo akong pulubi/hustler sa kwento mo, pinalabas mong inocente ka. Pinalabas mo na 1.5 m lang ang pera ko sa election at galing pa sa iyo? Baka isampal ko sa iyo ang tatlong bankbook ko. (You’ve got a thick face. You’re trying to be clean. You made me look like a poor person/hustler in your story. You portrayed youself as innocent. You said I only had P1.5 million during the elections. And that the amount came from you? Do you want me to slap my three bankbooks in your face?”

“Ipakita mo sa akin ang proof na natanggap ko ang pera galing sa kapatid mo. At dahil sa kawalang hiyaan mo kaya ako natalo. Sorry ka na lang dong, di kita mapapatawad sa ginawa mo. (Show me proof that I received money from your brother. Because of what you’ve done, I lost in the elections. I’m sorry. I could not forgive you.)”

Expected

When sought for comment, Del Prado said she expected Annabelle to get back at him.

“It’s nothing new. I wasn’t shocked. I’m prepared for it. That has been her style. She would destroy the reputation of all her opponents. That’s Annabelle,” Del Prado told Cebu Daily News.

Although he hasn’t read Annabelle’s Twitter messages, he was told about it by his friends.

“Those were all fabricated. That has nothing to do with the case. Those statements have no bearing at all. It has no relevance to the case. We will meet in the proper forum. Let’s just stick to the issues. I’m not for a media war. The truth will prevail,” Del Prado said.

He said his lawyer Mark Elton Garrote is studying their legal options against Annabelle for her online ranting .

“Those remarks are below the belt. It shows what kind of person she is. I’m sure of myself. My friends know who I am and who Annabelle is. You’ll know her more in the coming days. This is a fight between truth and lies,” Del Prado said./Reporter Ador Vincent S. Mayol
