DepEd to hold test for future principals
MANILA, Philippines—The Department of Education (DepEd) has announced the prerequisites for this year’s exam that screens future principals for public schools in the country.
According to a DepEd memo, the test, to be held on Dec. 8, can be taken by all aspirants for the position of principal 1, and all applicants to other school head positions.
Those who will take the exam must have at least five years in aggregate experience as head teacher, teacher in charge, master teacher and teacher 3.
The deadline for the filing of application in the division offices is Nov. 4.
Education Secretary Armin Luistro said the test was a way of determining who would “perform their functions professionally” as heads of schools in the public basic education system.
