THE CEBU Schools Athletic Foundation Inc. (Cesafi) will pay its respects to the late Oscar “Jun” Jereza, owner and vice-president of administration of the University of Southern Philippines Foundation (USPF), by postponing its scheduled games for today.
Jereza, the Panthers’ team manager and a long-time supporter of the school’s basketball program, passed away recently.
Action resumes this Saturday with a four-game schedule highlighted by the collegiate encounter between the nine-time champions University of the Visayas (UV) Green Lancers and the University of San Jose-Recoletos (USJ-R) Jaguars.
Both teams were victorious in their initial salvos with UV claiming an 81-62 win over the University of Cebu Webmasters and USJ-R beating the Cebu Institute of Technology-University Wildcats, 79-66. /Correspondent Jonas Panerio
