MANILA, Philippines—Eight alleged prostitutes were arrested in Lucena City in an operation conducted by police on Sunday.
The eight women, whose names were withheld and whose ages ranged from 18 to 52, were nabbed along Enriquez street in Village VI and on M.L. Tagarao street, Village IV, at around 1 a. m., said officer on case Senior Police Officer 1 Marcelina Villatuya.
Detained at the Lucena Central Police District, the suspects, who police claimed were waiting for costumers, were slapped with complaints for violation of the anti-vagrancy and prostitution law, Villatuya said.—Danica Hermogenes
