Caloocan wants Monumento off crime hot spots list

/ 02:33 AM August 06, 2013

After the Monumento area was identified by the Philippine National Police (PNP) as one of several “crime hot spots” in Metro Manila, the Caloocan City government said it would see to it that it was removed from the list immediately.

Mayor Oscar Malapitan on Monday ordered the city police and city hall’s Department of Public Safety and Traffic Management to do everything to make the area safe.

“Our top priority is to get Monumento off the PNP watch list and make it safer for motorists, pedestrians and the general public,” he said.—Nathaniel R. Melican
