2 vendors abducted in Patikul—military

ZAMBOANGA CITY, Philippines—Armed men snatched two vendors of used clothing (ukay-ukay)  in Sitio Baunoh, Barangay Latih, Patikul town shortly before 6 p.m. Sunday, authorities said.

Western Mindanao Command’s spokesperson Lt. Col. Randolph Cabangbang identified the victims as Ambon Blas, 65 and Perlita Bagay, 25.

“The two victims were riding in tandem (on a motorcycle) when they were abducted by the group of Basaron Aruk near Latih Elementary School,” Cabangbang said.

Aruk is a member of the Abu Sayyaf Group operating in Patikul area.

The victims were on the way home in Patikul town when abducted.
