Strong quake shakes northern Japan

TOKYO—A 6.0 earthquake shook northern Japan on Sunday but there was no risk of a tsunami, the meteorological agency said.

The focus of the quake, which took place at 12:29 pm (0329 GMT) was in the Pacific off Miyagi prefecture, the area devastated by a 9.0 quake in March 2011.
