Workshop to tackle correct way to pray
IN line with the church’s celebration of the Year of Faith, the Jesuit Retreat House in Banawa, Cebu City will hold a three-day retreat-workshop to guide participants into the nature of Christian prayer.
Ideal for those who are starting a habit of prayer and for those who want to enhance their prayer life, this retreat-workshop will guide participants on the basic elements and dynamics and some styles and methods of prayer.
An introduction to Ignatian prayer is included in the program. This retreat-workshop is deemed appropriate for seminarians, postulants, scholastics and novices and for all those who aspire to the priesthood or enter religious life.
At the end of the workshop, participants will be able to address common prayer concerns like maintaining prayerful silence, dealing with distractions and the onset of “dryness” in prayer, the use of Sacred Scriptures, dealing with the language and movement of God and uncovering one’s resistance in prayer.
To be facilitated by the retreat house’s Apostolic Team, the Opening to God in Prayer workshop starts at 5 p.m. on Aug. 8 and ends at 3 p.m. on Aug. 11.
