Mayor’s ‘supporter’ threaten radiomen

TWO broadcasters from Bombo Radyo Cebu get death threats from a person who claims to be a supporter of Talisay City Mayor Johnny V. Delos Reyes.

Station Manager Juril Patiño and announcer Johnley Bayking claimed to have received the threats after broadcasting reports and commentaries on the issue of job order hiring and firing at the Talisay City Hall.

The threats sent through text message from mobile phone number 09432121091 came after the station carried reports and commentaries on the issue of job order hiring and firing in Talisay City.

One of the messages read: “Parts, putak lang maayo diha ha. Birahi sila drugs or president, ayaw lang apila si mayor JDR…

(Buddy, keep on talking. Keep on attacking drugs or the president, just don’t include mayor JDR…)

But Mayor Delos Reyes dismisses this, saying it may be the handiwork of his political opponents.

“Tsismis nalang na, di nako mo sakay ana,” Delos Reyes said.
