Houseowner arrested in Lapu raid

A MAN was arrested when police found packs of suspected drugs worth P120,000 during a raid in his house in barangay Bangkal, Lapu-Lapu City yesterday morning.

Police raided the house of Roque Abing, 52, on the strength of an arrest warrant issued by Regional Trial Court Judge Teresita Galanida.

Operatives of the City Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operations Task Group (CAIDSOTG) found three medium packs and 70 small packs believed to contain shabu.

Police described Abing as a level two drug pusher who could dispose of 200 grams of illegal drugs a week.

Abing admitted he was involved in the illegal drug trade but said he is just a small-time pusher.

The suspect said someone would deliver the illegal drugs to his house and would collect the proceeds later.

A separate police operation led to the arrest of two men in barangay Poblacion, Consolacion town, northern Cebu.

Reynaldo Damalao and Charfol Gualiza sold two packs of suspected shabu to a poseur-buyer when they were arrested Wednesday afternoon.

The operation was conducted by operatives of the Provincial Intelligence Branch.

Police said the two men were capable of selling 25 to 50 grams of shabu per week.
