A NEW police chief was confirmed to lead the Police Regional Office in Central Visayas (PRO-7) yesterday. Chief Supt. Danilo Constantino will take over the post vacated by Chief Supt. Marcelo Garbo Jr. who was reassigned as head of the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO).
Chief Supt. Generoso Cerbo Jr., acting PRO-7 chief, said he received a call from Camp Crame confirming Constantino’s assignment yesterday.
Constantino previously served as deputy director of Comptrollership in Camp Crame.
Constantino’s confirmation came as Senior Supt. Mariano Natu-el Jr. was commended by the Cebu City Council yesterday for his leadership of the Cebu City Police Office.
The council passed a resolution authored by Councilor Richie Osmeña expressing their appreciation for Natu-el’s “exemplary performance and contribution for the promotion of peace and order in the City of Cebu.”
“This city stands privileged to have been led by an officer who has the genuine heart to serve and uphold the security and welfare of Cebu City,” they said.
Natu-el will be replaced by Senior Supt. Noli Romana who was handpicked by Mayor Michael Rama as the city’s next police chief.
Natu-el will head to the Cebu Provincial Police Office for a new assignment. /Chief of Reporters Doris C. Bongcac and Correspondent Chito Aragon
